Do you need to verify the Active/Inactive status of an Ontario corporation? Does your professional association require you to obtain a Certificate of Status?

The Certificate of Status provides the current status of the corporation (active, dissolved or in default). It is available only for Ontario corporations or for Extra-Provincial foreign corporations*.

*Certificates of Status for an Extra-Provincial foreign corporation will only indicate its status for Ontario, not for its home jurisdiction.

Availability

OnCorp is unable to provide Certificates of Status for the following corporation types:

• Co-operatives (Contact the Financial Services Commission of Ontario)
• Credit Unions (Contact the Financial Services Commission of Ontario)
• Insurance Companies
• Banks
• Corporations from other provinces that are extra-provincially registered in Ontario (contact the home jurisdiction)
• Not-For-Profit corporations from outside of Canada that are extra-provincially registered in Ontario
